Cleveland winery upgrade

Winery at Chateau Hough, an urban winery on East 66th Street, is set to expand. The Cleveland Board of Control approved the sale of Land Bank parcels to Neighborhood Solutions Inc. for $19,864 for a winery expansion and parking in Ward 7. Neighborhood Solutions is the nonprofit that operates the winery.

The board also approved a sale for park space in Ward 10 and voted down a sale for proposed housing along West 61st Street in Ward 3. Community Development Director Alyssa Hernandez said she needed to do more research before asking the board to approve selling the Ward 3 parcels to Nehemiah Collaborative Ltd.

Specialized paint job

Board members approved a roughly $7.2 million contract with Hi-Lite Airfield Services LLC for painting and paint removal on roadways, taxiways and ramps for the Department of Port Control.

Director of Law Mark Griffin asked why Hi-Lite was the only company to bid on the contract. Dennis Kramer, a Port Control official, told him that airfield painting is specialized work that few companies do.

The contract is for one year, with options to stretch it to three years in total.

Cleveland Public Power consulting services

The board also approved $2 million for a consulting contract with Middough Inc. The contract is for “as-needed” general engineering services for Cleveland Public Power.  It includes six subconsultants. Of those, one is a certified minority-owned business and two are women-owned businesses.
