Happy Fall, Cleveland! As we say goodbye to the pool parties and humidity and hello to bonfires and crisp nights, I hope you found a moment to enjoy yourselves during summertime. Personally, I loved attending the plethora of festivals across the city.
Events are continuing to take place all across Northeast Ohio. If you are looking for some quirky, Halloween-themed events, check out this list by Signal Cleveland’s Gennifer Harding-Gosnell. Our partners at Signal Akron also compiled a list of activities in Greater Akron. Now, let’s take a look at what’s going on around Cleveland this month.
Village of Healing Men’s Tuneup
- When: Saturday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Where: Migs Pla-Mor Roller Rink, located at 22466 Shore Center Dr. in Euclid
- Details: Village of Healing is excited to host its 2nd annual Aches Pains and Automobiles/Rolling with the Village Men’s Tune Up. This event is dedicated to promoting preventative care and community wellness with a focus on men. The fair will offer a community classic car show, blood pressure checks, prostate cancer screenings and other important health screenings. Children, accompanied by an adult, will enjoy free skating, along with hot dogs and chips for lunch. For more information, click here.
Xpressions Public Writing Workshop



- When: Tuesdays at 6 p.m. through Nov. 11
- Where: University Circle Inc. Community Room, located at 10831 Magnolia Dr.
- Details: The Sparrow’s Fortune will facilitate an eight-part series of their public creative writing workshops. This will be a combination of workshops that target conversation about methods of writing poetry and skills necessary to perform poetry. Through each workshop, participants will identify and discuss their life experiences while reading poetry and essay excerpts. Participants will then discuss and practice expression as it relates to writing letters, crafting poetry, and reciting their work aloud. Participants are open to attend any and all workshops, as each workshop does not necessarily build on another and all are beginner- friendly. For more information or to register, click here.
Mask Making Classes with Sylvia: Unleash your Creativity
- When: Classes are every Saturday at 11 a.m. through Nov. 8.
- Where: University Circle Inc. Community Room, located at 10831 Magnolia Dr.
- Details: UCI artist in residence, Sylvia Munodawafa, is hosting an eight-class series on creating African masks. Learn the history of African mask making while creating your own unique mask. All skill levels are welcome. Participants who are under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Classes are every Saturday at 11 a.m.and will run through Nov.ember 8. Fall festivals in October
Fall Fest at StoneWater


- When: Friday, Oct. 3, from 5 to 11 p.m.
- Where: The Yard at StoneWater is located at 1 Club Dr. in Highland Hills.
- Details: The Yard at StoneWater is hosting its 5th annual Fall Fest. Guests will be treated to live music, food trucks, drinks, kid activities, and more. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash. While the event is free, there is a small fee for select activities. For more information on the event, click here.

Garfield Heights Fall Festival
- When: Saturday, Oct. 4, from noon to 3 p.m.
- Where: Garfield Heights Civic Center, located at 5407 Turney Rd.
- Details: The Garfield Heights Fall Festival will include food trucks, pumpkin decorating, hayrides, music, trick-or-treat stations and more. Feel free to wear your Halloween costume. This event is cash only. For more information, click here.
Downtown Cleveland Fall Fun Days
- When: Saturday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Voinovich Bicentennial Park; Saturday, Oct. 18, at Public Square
- Where: Voinovich Bicentennial Park, 800 E. 9th Street Pier, on Oct. 4. Public Square on Oct. 18.
- Details: Downtown Cleveland Inc. will be hosting two Fall Fun Days. These events will include mini pumpkin painting, bubbles, outdoor games, food, balloon artistry and more. For more information on both of these events, click here.

OB StreetFest

- Where: Broadview Road from Spring to Tampa
- Details: Old Brooklyn Community Development Corporation is hosting the second annual OB StreetFest, an outdoor celebration of the people, places, and spaces of the Old Brooklyn neighborhood. This free event on Broadview Road will transform six blocks of the neighborhood into a lively and welcoming place for the community to enjoy live music, great food, a beer garden, local vendors, family-friendly activities, and more. Stearns Homestead Fall Festival
