The Marshall Project and Signal Cleveland teamed up to launch a guide on Cuyahoga County judicial races this spring. It was a first-of-its kind tool designed to provide more information to Greater Clevelanders about local judges and candidates running for a seat on the bench.

Thousands visited the unique guide, which featured answers from candidates to questions that came directly from community members.

We’ll release an update of the judge guide in the run-up to the Nov. 5 general election.

With so much at stake in this year’s Ohio Supreme Court contest, we’re adding information for voters on the six candidates squaring off in three separate races.

Republican judges currently hold a 4-3 majority. If Democrats were to win big, it would shift the partisan makeup of the court for the first time in decades.

In recent years, the Ohio Supreme Court has made high-profile decisions, ruling on issues ranging from abortion and miscarriage care to gerrymandering. They also routinely hear appeals related to criminal convictions and death penalty cases.

We want to know what YOU want to know from the people campaigning for seats on the Ohio Supreme Court.

Please fill out this super brief survey using this link or in the post below. Your answers will help us make sure we include useful information on these candidates for voters. Also, feel free to share the survey with others.
