There’s only one official mayor of Cleveland. But across the city there is that neighbor everyone knows. The person who looks out for the block. Who has the latest on the vacant house next door or the new development that might be built around the corner. The person who knows what’s happening in the neighborhood this weekend — or what it was like back in the day.

As election season ramps up, we want to meet and get know some of these unsung community leaders. And, we want to share the stories of these many mayors with our readers.

(The New York Times did something similar, featuring “The Real Mayors of New York” in 2013. We’re taking inspiration from that but with a Cleveland flavor.)

To pull this off, we will need your help. Who is the unofficial mayor of your block, street or neighborhood?

Let us know by filling out the form below.

We may not be able to write about every nominee. But your suggestions will guide us to the neighborhood “mayors” who give Cleveland its character.
