State officials have released a list of inactive voters to be purged from the registration list in July. More than 14,000 names from Cuyahoga County are on the list.
You can search for your name on the Ohio Secretary of State’s website here.
The list is compiled as part of an annual process called the National Change of Address, said Ben Kindel of the Ohio Secretary of State’s office.
The names on the current list were first flagged in 2020 through the National Change of Address process. They are voters who filed change-of-address forms with the U.S. Postal Service followed by years of voting inactivity, Kindel said. The state’s 88 county boards of elections are tasked with reviewing and reporting records of voters who have not voted for the last four years.
“The whole reason we have this process is to make sure we have accurate data on our voter rolls,” Kindel said.
The names of 14,954 people who listed Cuyahoga County addresses are on the list. Of those, 7,472 are Cleveland addresses.
