Fishing is fun and more
The best thing about fishing is that anyone can do it. Whether you’re short, tall, shy, athletic or not, with practice and patience anyone can learn how to fish.

Fishing is one of the most popular sports in the world. It’s more popular than golf, soccer and tennis. In the United States, approximately 50 million people take part in the sport of fishing every year, but it’s much more than just a simple outdoor activity. There’s the fun and excitement of preparing your tackle, packing a lunch, going over your checklist, buying bait and traveling to your favorite body of water.
Spending time outdoors not only builds respect for the environment – it can also provide lifelong benefits. Connecting with green space such as parks and forests, and blue space such as rivers and lakes, has been shown to help people get more exercise, reduce stress, build self-esteem, and overall improve a person’s quality of life. Fishing teaches patience, time management skills, how to handle success and failure, and provides a sense of accomplishment and an appreciation for the great outdoors.
In addition, spending time outdoors isn’t all just fun and games. People build careers working outdoors while making a positive impact on the environment. From tending the land and water to protecting animals and wildlife, careers include conservationist, scientist, forester, wildlife biologist, farmer, park ranger and environmentalist.
