The nonprofit will then give the land to Cleveland Metroparks, which will use it to upgrade and redevelop Euclid Beach Park into a major recreational attraction. Beard is among the residents fighting to keep their affordable housing near Lake Erie.

The Euclid Beach Mobile Home Community in Cleveland's North Collinwood neighborhood. Residents should find out in the coming weeks how much of $6.2 million of a new grant earmarked to close the park will actually go to residents to relocate to new homes.The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation made the grant to the Western Reserve Land Conservancy, which owns the park.
