Too late for the holidays and too soon for a snow day, a winter storm arrived in Northeast Ohio this morning. The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning for Cuyahoga and counties to the east until 7 p.m. Saturday.

Road snow plowing

If you haven’t before, this is a chance to check out the snow plow tracker that the City of Cleveland launched in 2022. The city is responsible for clearing main, secondary and residential streets. Home and business owners are responsible for clearing snow, sleet and ice from sidewalks. The Ohio Department of Transportation and the Ohio Turnpike Commission handle the interstates.

Important stories are hiding everywhere, and my favorite part of journalism has always been the collaboration, working with colleagues to find the patterns in the information we’re constantly gathering. I don’t care whose name appears in the byline; the work is its own reward. As Batman said to Commissioner Gordon in “The Dark Knight,” “I’m whatever Gotham needs me to be.”
