Community events are going strong this week. Let’s take a look at what is going on in and around the city this week.

Holiday Tree Lighting & Caroling
The Cultural Gardens will be hosting a Holiday Tree Lighting & Caroling ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 8, from at 4 p.m. Join members of the Cultural Gardens Federation as they sing Christmas carols while decorating and lighting a Christmas tree. The executive director of the federation, Lori Ashyk, encourages the community to come out.
“It’s a great opportunity for families to kick off the holiday season at the cultural gardens,” Ashyk said. “They can take time to discover the different gardens while enjoying the event. We will also be giving toys and books away to children ages 2-12.”
Santa will be in attendance, and hot chocolate and cookies will be served. The lighting of the tree will take place at 5 p.m. This event will be held at Centennial Peace Plaza, located at 1051 Martin Luther King Blvd. For more information, click here or call 216-220-3075.
