In November, voters in Cleveland and other cities in Cuyahoga County will choose their mayors, council representatives and municipal court judges. Monday, Oct. 6, is the deadline to register to vote in that election.
Are you already registered? If you’re not sure, you can check on this page of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections web site, or call the BOE at 216-443-VOTE (8683).
If you’re not registered, you will need a current Ohio driver’s license or an Ohio identification card. If you have one of those, skip ahead to the next section for registration options.
If you don’t:
Ohio ID cards are available for free at many BMV locations. This page has lists of some of the personal documents you can use to obtain an ID.

Lots of library branches, Ohio license bureaus and other locations will accept a voter registration application. Here is a complete list.

This flyer from NEOCH explains more.
Early voting: Early in-person voting, at the BOE, will begin Oct. 7. The Board of Elections office will be open for voting during normal business hours on all weekdays through Oct. 31, and on the Saturday and Sunday before Election Day. See more about dates and times here.
If you’re already registered and intend to vote by mail, you can start that process now on this page.
If you’re voting on Election Day, do you know your polling location? It’s easy to check on this web page. This is especially important in Cleveland, where more than 70,000 voters have new polling locations due to the ward boundary changes.
Do you have other questions about voting?
The BOE offers several videos explaining different parts of the voting process. You can also call the BOE at 216-443-8683 (VOTE).
