Hey Cleveland, did you know that there are only 47 more days until fall? Before we break out the sweaters, pumpkin spice and classic Halloween films, we can soak up these last weeks of summer sunshine. What’s happening in Cleveland this week? Let’s take a look.

Collinwood Resource Fair
The Renee Jones Empowerment Center (RJEC) will be hosting the 10th annual Collinwood Resource Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10. This event is a chance for Collinwood residents and families to talk to multiple social service agencies in one location. Renee Jones, founder of RJEC, is encouraging people to attend the event on Saturday.
“We will have education and trafficking prevention information, blood pressure screenings and plenty of fun games and activities for the kids,” Jones said. “Come on out and have a good time with us.”
The event will include music, free lunch and an ice cream truck. The fair will be held at People’s Church of God in Christ, located at 900 E. 152nd St., and will take place rain or shine. For more information, click here.

Karaoke & Conversation
The Civic Engagement Collaborative will be hosting Karaoke & Conversation at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8. Belt out your favorite tunes while networking with community members. Take part in conversations geared toward both civic engagement and education. Food, raffles and other fun activities will be provided. This event will take place at The Box Spot, located at 8005 Kinsman Rd. For more information, click here.


Glenville Festival
Join residents in celebrating the annual Glenville Festival from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10. Connect with Glenville residents during the 47th edition of this family day. Events will include games by Recess Cleveland, live music, youth boxing, a car show, food trucks and more. The festival will take place at Sam Miller Park, located at E. 88th Street and St. Clair Avenue. For more information, click here.

Community Cookout
The Village Feast will host a community cookout from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11. Join the residents of Slavic Village for this family-style cookout that highlights meal and floral arrangements by Daisy’s, Philomena Bakery, Vic’s Floral and the Southeast Resource Center.
