The Center for Community Solutions has released neighborhood fact sheets for all 15 Cleveland wards that council candidates are running to represent.

The new political boundaries will snap into place in 2026, following a process that reduced the number of city council wards from 17 to 15. The city’s charter required this after the last U.S. Census showed a decline in the number of residents living in Cleveland to about 372,624. Each council ward is supposed to have about 25,000 residents.

Community Solutions, an independent, nonpartisan research center, compiles demographic, health and social indicators for use by civic leaders, nonprofits and residents. The information includes things such as:

  • Age and race of people who live in a ward
  • The share of people who are employed and how much money they make
  • How often ward residents saw a doctor for a checkup in the past year
  • What share of residents own their homes and rent their homes
  • What percentage of residents have a college degree
