Cleveland Silent Film Festival

The Cleveland Public Library (CPL) will host a screening in partnership with the Cleveland Silent Film Festival (CSSF) & Colloquium on Saturday, April 5, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The movie will be Alfred Hitchcock’s 1929 thriller “Blackmail.” The film will be accompanied by a live score performance by the Cleveland Photoplayers, led by pianist Eric Charnofsky.

Emily Laurance, executive director at CFFS, is thrilled at what she has seen from the festival so far.

“We are excited to be in partnership with CPL, as they celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the downtown library,” Laurance said. “We hope residents from all over the city will come out and experience the excitement that film with live music can achieve.”

Community Reporter (he/him)
I work to gain the trust of Cleveland residents through direct community engagement and storytelling. My goal is to amplify and celebrate the residents and stakeholders who contribute to the success of city neighborhoods. I’m hoping to erase the negative stigma that has been cast on some neighborhoods throughout the years.
