The November jobs report will be out on Friday and experts think it will be better than October’s. Though the October report was weak, the downturn was due mostly to hurricane-related work interruptions and strikes.

While the end of the year isn’t typically a time when there are a lot of jobs posted — outside of seasonal employment — employers are hiring.

Ohio Means Jobs is teaming up with Metro West to offer a hiring event with a touch of family fun. Along with free snacks and refreshments the first 25 people will receive free headshots. Resume help will be available as well as free English/Spanish translation services and activities for the kids. And in the holiday spirit, folks who are able can make donations to help those in need. Ever thought about driving a bus? The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is hosting a career fair for prospective bus operators. The starting wage is $26.48 an hour which increases up to $35+ an hour the fourth year of full-time work. And successful applicants will receive Commercial Driving License (CDL) training. Candidates should have a high school diploma or G.E.D., be at least 19 years old, have a minimum of three years driving experience, 2 years customer service experience and a good driving record with no more than two points in the past three years.
