First celebrated on April 22, 1970, it is a national effort to raise awareness about environmental issues. Here are things to do in Cleveland to celebrate!

Cultural Gardens Stream Sweep
Give the Doan Brook a refresh. On Saturday, April 20, volunteers can help keep the stream healthy by pulling trash, debris and invasive vegetation from the stream corridor and surrounding trails. Volunteers will meet at the Centennial Peace Plaza in the Cultural Gardens in Cleveland. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Be sure to dress for the weather and wet or muddy conditions. Earth Day at Rid-All hosted by Sunday School
Celebrate the day by volunteering your Sunday afternoon at Rid-All Green Partnership’s urban farm. Tree potting, spreading wood chips and planting are some of the activities planned for the day. Equipment will be provided, though volunteers are welcome to bring their own tools and supplies. Participants can enjoy a tea bar, light snacks and music in celebration of Earth Day. Community tree planting in Ohio City
Monday, Ohio City Inc. is hosting a tree planting day at Lakeview Estates in celebration of Earth Day.
The plan is to plant 30 trees in three hours to help combat harmful particulate matter known as criteria air pollutants. Entertainment, food and beverages will be provided. Reserve your spot on their event website.
