Going fourth

The Cleveland zoning board welcomed a new member: attorney Arleesha Wilson. Wilson brings the number of board members to four. She joins Chair Alanna Faith, Nina Holzer and Priscila Rocha. The board is still one member short. It had been short two members following recent departures. Former chair Kelley Britt retired, and former board member Terri Hamilton Brown left to be Cleveland’s interim director of Economic Development.

All week, alright

On June 12, the board gave the OK to Jessica Rodriguez to run a salon in a Jefferson home. One condition was that the salon would be open Monday through Friday. Rodriguez returned to the board in this meeting requesting approval to operate through the weekend, too. The board approved. The salon is for permanent makeup work, such as for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy who have lost their eyebrows, Rodriguez said. Service is by appointment only.

Helping veterans

A six-bedroom home in Glenville is set to be a residential facility for veterans. The board approved that use of the property. Rebecca Walker spoke on behalf of the project. It is for men, and it will include an outdoor space. Residents will receive three meals a day and a snack.
