The Cleveland Division of Recreation is extending the operating days for warming centers through Sunday, Jan. 12. Warming centers opened at 11:30 a.m. today and will remain open until 10 p.m. The centers will be open from  10 a.m.until 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Those needing overnight shelter are asked to call United Way 211 for assistance.

Friday’s high is expected to be in the low 20s with a chance of snow showers in the evening. The National Weather Service forecast shows continuing cold through Sunday, when the high is expected to reach 32 degrees.

You can follow the snow clean up progress by using the snow plow tracker. The City of Cleveland launched the site in 2022. The city is responsible for clearing main, secondary and residential streets. Home and business owners are responsible for clearing snow, sleet and ice from sidewalks. The Ohio Department of Transportation and the Ohio Turnpike Commission handle the interstates.
