Community Safety Fair

Join the Hyacinth’s Community Block Club for its Safety Fair. This free community event will feature a smoke house that teaches children what to do in case of a fire. RTA will also be in attendance, offering free fingerprinting for children with parental permission. Hot dogs, chips, and pop will be provided. This event will take place on Saturday, May 11, from noon to 4 p.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church, located at 6114 Francis Ave. If you would like to staff a table or volunteer to help, contact Kathy McDonald at 216-647-3232.

Diversity Celebration 2024

For the sixth year, the YWCA is offering 21 days of curated content with a focus on bodily autonomy, financial empowerment, gun violence and transportation. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the interconnected nature of social injustices and the importance of collective action in addressing them. This free event will take place until June 18 at the Beck Center for the Arts. The center is located at 17801 Detroit Ave. in Lakewood. For programming and to register, click here.

Teen Talent Show

Are you a teen with a special talent? Join the Slamm Season: Teen Talent Show on Saturday, May 11, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Whether you sing, dance or do poetry, all talents are welcomed. Up to $300 in cash prizes will be awarded. The event is open to the public and will be held outdoors at the Cleveland Museum of Contemporary Art, located at 11400 Euclid Ave. To watch this free event, get your tickets here.

King Conversations

Project Lift will be hosting a wellness conversation focused on suicide prevention and support for Black men on Wednesday, May 15, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Health and wellness resources, food, music and prizes will be available. While this is a free event, you must be 21 years or older to participate. This event will take place at Kulture Ultra Lounge at 3962 Mayfield Rd.
