Spelling Bee Challenge
The community listening team will host the second-annual Signal Cleveland Spelling Bee on Saturday, May 18 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Students from grades K-8 are welcome to participate. Trophies will be awarded to one winner per grade. You can register your child online here or you can show up the day of the bee and enter on site. The Bee will take place at the Sterling Branch Library, located at 2200 E. 30th St. If you have any questions, contact the team at 216-220-9398.

Armed Forces Day Veteran & Community Resource Fair
Rid-All Green Partnership will host its fourth-annual Veterans and Community Resource Fair on Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 40 vendors will be in attendance, offering wellness resources, financial assistance, employment opportunities and food. Attendees can practice yoga, join a Cleveland Cavaliers children’s basketball clinic and take part in a women’s forum and more. Vietnam veterans are encouraged to attend, as they will be honored and acknowledged with a pinning ceremony. This free event will take place at the Rid-All Green Partnership, located at 8129 Otter Ave.

Kindergarten Kickoff
The Children’s Museum of Cleveland is hosting a free play event for families with children currently enrolled in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Explore the museum’s many hands-on exhibits during two hours of open play. Families who attend will also receive a free, one-year membership to the museum. This event will take place on Saturday, May 18 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Children’s Museum is located at 3813 Euclid Ave. To register, click here.

Pedal for Prizes
Old Brooklyn will be hosting its 14th-annual Pedal for Prizes event. Win prizes, including brand new bicycles, by exploring local businesses and other points of interest while riding your bicycle through the Old Brooklyn neighborhood. The ride will start at Loew Park, located between Oak Park and Ralph Avenue. Registration begins at 10 a.m. You can register at the park or pre-register by printing off and filling out the release form. Remember to bring the form with you on the day of the event!
