Sept. 23: Cleveland City Council
Cleveland City Council is set to get an update on the city’s finances from Mayor Justin Bibb’s administration. Interim Chief Finance Officer Jim Hartley will review the status of the city’s revenues and expenses. Council is preparing for the “operational reviews” it will hold this fall to dive deeper into each city department’s operations, accomplishments, and budgets.
Sept. 23: Cuyahoga County Library, Gates Mills branch
Signal Cleveland and the Cuyahoga County Public Library are hosting our next “Front Porch Pop Up” session at the Gates Mills branch to hear what you think about the upcoming election. Sept. 28: Great Lakes Science Center Robotics Challenge
The Great Lakes Science Center will host the Curiosity Open: Robotics Challenge on Saturday, Sept. 28. Several CMSD high school teams will be there, and it’s free to the public to watch. Details here.
From now to Oct. 15: Hispanic Heritage Month at Cleveland Public Library
The Cleveland Public Library has a variety of family fun events between now and Oct. 15. The programming will focus on the rich history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic Americans. Check out their full schedule here.
Oct. 1: 2024 State of the Schools
The City Club of Cleveland will host Cleveland Metropolitan School District CEO Warren Morgan on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Morgan will speak about his priorities and progress after his first year leading the school district. Details and tickets here.
Oct. 22: Data Days conference
Data Days CLE, sponsored by Signal Cleveland, is the region’s only conference focused on accessible data and civic technology for community impact. Civic and industry leaders will lead a day of learning and action around innovative, local uses of data across a variety of sectors, all with a focus on how data is used for action in social justice, research, and policy.
