Temperatures are expected to warm up a bit by this weekend just in time for several free, fun events happening around town. The Museum of Contemporary Art, closed now to set up for its new season, hosts an opening night celebration on Friday just in time to kick off the weekend. Check out this week’s community events.

moCa Opening Night Celebration
The Museum of Contemporary Art kicks off its winter/spring season with three new exhibitions and a free opening night celebration. Exhibits include “Dear,” a tribute to Black motherhood coordinated by the nonprofit Birthing Beautiful Communities. From 6 to 9 pm. on Friday, Jan. 24 at moCa, 11400 Euclid Ave. Register here.

Tri-C classical piano series
The latest in Cuyahoga Community College’s free classical piano series features Roman Rabinovich, who has been critically acclaim for performances throughout Europe and the USA. Neighbor Night
Join in the spirit of possibility at the first Neighbor Night of the year for the Buckeye-Larchmere-Shaker-Woodland Hills communities. Neighbor Nights are regular gatherings of residents and other community stakeholders to raise and connect around issues that matter to them and move towards making positive change in their communities. From 6 to 8 p.m on Monday, Jan. 27 at the Cleveland Public Library’s Rice branch, 11535 Shaker Blvd.

Let’s sketch the Natural History Museum
Calling all who like to draw. Cleveland Urban Sketchers, a group dedicated to raising up art, storytelling, and the educational value of on-site drawing, is inviting Greater Clevelanders to a drawing session at the Cleveland Natural History Museum. Cleveland winter bonus event: Cold Roll
Slow Roll Cleveland is ready to brave the weather for a bike ride. The riders plan to cautiously venture into the snowy tundra on Saturday, Jan. 25. The group says, “our Cold Rolls are designed for more experienced winter riders, but anyone who just wants to be out on a bike after being shut in for the last month is welcome to join; just make sure you wear enough layers and protection from the cold.”
The ride will depart from Madison Park in Lakewood at 1 p.m. Meet in the parking lot, next to the public swimming pool complex. The plan is for an 8-mile ride, weather permitting. For more information, click here
