Boys & Girls Clubs ‘Journey Through Summer’

When: June 10 to Aug. 15 from  8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Some start times vary)

Where: Cuyahoga County has five clubs

  • Broadway: 6114 Broadway Avenue, Cleveland
  • King Kennedy: 2561 E. 59th Street, Cleveland
  • Saint Luke’s: 2705 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Cleveland
  • Bridge City Church: 3381 Fulton Road, Cleveland
  • Elmwood: 5275 Turney Road, Garfield Heights

Ages: 6-18

Cost: Free. Some clubs have transportation

Tri-C Creative Arts Summer Camps

When: Various start and end dates

Where: Tri-C Metro Campus, 2900 Community College Ave, Cleveland

Ages: 4 to 18, depending on the camp

Cost: Some camps are free and some have a fee

Camps with openings remaining include: Summer Concert Band, Keyboard, Vocal Arts, Dance, 

What to know: Some camps are for beginners, some require previous experience

Merrick House Summer Day Camp 

When: June 16 to July 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Where: 1050 Starkweather Ave, Cleveland 

Ages: 6 to 13 

Cost: Free

Activities: Arts & crafts, STEM project, sports, entrepreneurship and field trips

When: June 2 to Aug. 15.

Where: 9250 Miles Park Cleveland 

Ages: 3 to 12 

Cost: Free. Transportation available.

Activities: Field trips, water play, sports

Jones Road Family Ministries Summer Camp

When: June 23 to July 31 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Where: Cleveland Central Catholic, 6550 Baxter Avenue, Cleveland

Ages: 1st through 8th grade

Cost: Free

Activities: Music including instrumentals and vocals, drum line, reading, theater, dance, art, creative writing and soccer.

Cleveland Metroparks Camps and Activities

When: Early June to mid-August

Where: Nearly 20 Cleveland Metroparks Reservations

Ages: 3 to 17

Cost: Costs range from $25 to $240

Activities: Archery, fishing, science, hiking, nature knowledge

What to know: Cleveland Metroparks still has openings for camps that teach archery, fishing, science and outdoor skills. Camps range from a single day to two weeks

Advantage Cleveland Tennis and Education Camp

When: June 9 to July 18 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (No camp June 19 and July 3 & 4)

Where: Daniel E. Morgan School, 8912 Morris Ct., Cleveland 

Ages: 6-13

Cost: Free

Activities: Tennis basics, wellness, poetry

What to know: The camp is in its 16th year. The program prioritizes students in the Hough neighborhood, CMSD students and returning campers. If multiple children are enrolling,  please register them separately and in their proper age group.
