Hey Cleveland, March is passing us by fast. As the weather warms up, outdoor events increase. Keep us in the loop at Signal Cleveland by sending over event suggestions, especially ones that are free or under $25. We would love to highlight the amazing planning being done by our fellow Clevelanders and beyond. Let’s look into what festive events are taking place this weekend.

The Sparrow’s Fortune Creative Writing Workshop

The Sparrow’s Fortune (TSF) will be hosting a free creative writing workshop on Saturday March 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned writer, this workshop will walk participants through the art of storytelling and sparking conversation through writing.

Morgan Paige Shorts, managing director and teaching artist at TSF, would love for the community to join the group for this workshop and other future events.

“It’s a space for people to share their experiences of what they are going through in life and turn those experiences into stories,” Shorts said. “Come ready to experience a new community and perspective. It’s OK to be nervous. We have a very welcoming group of people that attend these workshops.”

The workshop will take place at the Prolific Oxygen Dome, located at 8299 Higbee Ave. Doors open at 10:50 a.m. For more information or to reserve your spot, click here.

Community Reporter (he/him)
I work to gain the trust of Cleveland residents through direct community engagement and storytelling. My goal is to amplify and celebrate the residents and stakeholders who contribute to the success of city neighborhoods. I’m hoping to erase the negative stigma that has been cast on some neighborhoods throughout the years.
